Sonoran Sky Elementary had held a Fun Run for 5 years and they raised a lot of money. However while the one day event was fun for the kids it really had little to do with elementary school. The board preferred an academic element if possible.
The board met to discuss holding a Read-a-thon. Not knowing what to expect they set a goal to raise $20,000. Instead they blew past $50,000.
Kristina Brown, the Fundraising Chair, now says that she thinks within 5-7 years every school in America will switch their fundraising and hold Read-a-thons instead of their current school fundraiser.
Why don’t you see how much your school can raise by holding a Read-A-Thon?
