That's one of the reasons we wanted you to know about our Read-A-Thon at PS 176Q: The Cambria Heights School. The Read-A-Thon allows us to raise funds while promoting a love of reading with our students.

Dear PS 176Q Parents and Guardians,
The Cambria Heights School has decided to hold a Read-A-Thon this year! Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
How does a Read-A-Thon Work?
Scholars will ask family and friends to sponsor them as they engage in a reading journey from November 14, 2023 to December 8, 2023. During this time, a template will be used to keep track of the number of pages read. Sponsors will agree to pledge a certain amount of money per page read. Sponsors will use the scholar’s personal link to upload their pledged amount.
For example: Student A asks a friend to sponsor them during the Read-A-Thon period. The friend agrees to pledge $5 for each page that the student reads. At the end of the reading period, Student A has read 20 pages. The sponsor, then, uploads $100 onto Student A’s personal Read-A-Thon page using the link below.

As an alternative, sponsors may elect to make a one-time pledge of their desired amount instead of according to the total number of pages read.
Our Goal
P.S. 176 aims to earn $60,000 by the conclusion of our Read-A-Thon fundraiser. These funds will be utilized to provide enrichment opportunities for our scholars. It is the hope that each scholar will be able to raise at least $100 to support P.S. 176Q with reaching our goal.
Our Read-a-thon starts Tuesday November 14, 2023.
Today, we are sending home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
